The 2016 Chinese New Year’s Day will always be unforgettable for us. When we were students we stayed in an all lady’s accommodation in North Oxford and we liked to go to Summertown for a walk after dinner. We often saw the iconic logo of the world-famous BBC on our little excursions: so familiar yet seemingly so distant and faraway from our ordinary lives.

Su Yen was invited as a columnist by the renowned Xinhua Book journal from 2013 to 2014. The journal has been influential in introducing books and authors national wide in China. Su Yen contributed monthly for a year to the journal on her thoughts and ideas to compare British and Chinese cultures and the common values the two peoples can share.

Our first published book Dear Su Yen has been translated into Chinese language by a leading publisher in China. Su Yen was honoured as a contributing editor for one of the biggest national educational publishers in China. The publishers specialise in producing national textbooks for primary schools and children's magazine in China. During 2013 to 2014 Su Yen contributed a series of monthly articles for their textbook content development as well as articles about primary school students' life in England and Vancouver.
